Speeches

Speeches Analysed:

Greta Thunberg's speech, addressed the U.N.'s Climate Action Summit in New York City

Fallacies:

  • Assonance: "on the other side of the ocean."
  • Repetition: "How dare you"

The Carter-Reagan Presidential Debate, October 28, 1980

Line 22 to Line 104/105/107

Logical Fallacies:
  1. Non-sequitur: In line 28, Mr. Reagan says, "...we cannot shirk our responsibility as a leader of the free world because we’re the only ones that can do it." This line may have a slight amount of bigotry where it is assumed that America is the only country in the world that can lead the free world. This statement might have been made due to America's might, however, there is no evidence that simply being powerful means being a leader.
